Thanks Nige... it occurred to me that the ‘white’ was doing that thing with the end of its wing tips, curling them up, which our modern plane designs mimics to help them fly properly.
I remember watching a programme on owls who also do this end of wing tip curl, and it was copied to solve general stability in aircraft design. Always something to learn from our wildlife pals no matter where they are on the curve!
