Does anybody have any idea why a chaffinch would be sitting on my door handle for over 2 hours now? I live on the edge of farmland in Devon. He seems quite happy there and has briefly been to eat some seed I put out, but came back, watching me (and my cat!) through the glass!?? Surely not typicl behaviour for a chaffinch?

I had the same thing with a Dunnock a few years ago ! I ended up putting silhouette bird stickers on the window and closing the shutters for a while. Eventually it gave up but it was persistent !
