Visited yesterday for second time after 7 years. Although grey and chilly the circular walk took us past lovely meres and ponds. Loads of screens, hides and seating. Saw coots, several pairs of mute swans, blue and great tit, robin, reed bunting , splendid snipe at mere hide, wren, and highlight was first sighting of water rail observed and photographed for ten minutes.
Well be returning in the spring to hopefully catch the bittern and the cranes.
