wow , Thanks for posting
Hi Sara, wonder if this is a younger Long-eared Owl but you will need the experts for an ID on it. How amazing and beautiful to see it in your garden; whereabouts in the country are you ?

Hi,
I've no idea what type it is I just wanted to say what a great picture and beautiful bird. You're so lucky to have such a bird land in you're garden, wish I lived somewhere where I could get such lovely wildlife in my garden.
Thank you for sharing you picture.
I have only known of one other person having a L.E.Owl on their garden list. That was one of our club members but her garden backs up to the scrub on the edge of a heather moor.

I would go for LE rather than Eagle based on eye colour. Eagle Owls have noticeable golden eyes much more so than this individual.
Hi sorry I'm only just saying what I think now, I am new to the rspb community website but I have been in the rspb for as long as I can remember. I have worked with a lot of birds of prey including a long eared an eagle owls and it's definitely a long eared owl especially because of the eye colour.
