IS there an important lesson for politicians (and all of us) from birds?
Perhaps so, according to a paragraph in the closing chapter of a posthumously-published book by birder, poet, playright and thinker Yessengali Raushanov of Kazakhstan.
He writes: "Migrant birds do not observe international borders.
"They are opposed to the idea of separating or discriminating against countries, religions, races or nationalities."
Hmmm! Try telling Suella Braverman that.
* The Birds Are Our Friends is an extraordinary study of the relationship between humans and birds. It is published in paperback (£18.99) by Whittles Publishing.
