More Jim Crumley

Like a great number of folk on here I have had time to do a lot of reading and I've just finished reading the last in Jim Crumleys books on our four seasons called the " The Nature of Summer". As in the other three season books it is a brilliantly written view of our countryside in Summer in my opinion probably the best of the four. I have always thought of Summer as one of the quieter seasons for bird watching in fact one old guy I used to go out on the moors with said it was a time of year to get your binoculars serviced as you would not need them for a month or so. This book proves that theory is rubbish, plenty to do out there if you know where to look. It's not to late to get it onto your Santa letter or if you are feeling flush get all four of the books in this series, great for dark winter nights when the telly is rubbish.
