Welcome to the community - some useful info'!

Hello and welcome to the RSPB community forum, a place to share your enthusiasm for birds, wildlife and nature in general! Many of you reading this have been on here for a while and know your way around but you may still find this information useful. However many of you may have joined recently and may still be finding out how to use the site to its best effect, the pointers in this post should help make life a bit easier, so lets get cracking! I've hyperlinked all the various places to go to get appropriate info'.

• Terms and conditions - all forums have their own code of conduct and terms of use, before posting please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with ours.
• Finding your way - this is a big site and it can be tricky to know where to post, thankfully one of our regulars has helped everyone out by creating a forum map to help you find the right forum for your posts, thanks TJ!
• Posting pictures - we all love to see what everyone else has been snapping, you can post in galleries or in threads on the forums, just make sure it is your own work! If you are having trouble, another forum stalwart (thanks Doggie) talks you through the process here
• Identifying - if you have seen something that you can't quite identify, post it in the identify this section and someone will hopefully be able to help you figure it out, if it's a quiet time on the forum, check out our websites bird identifier for help.
• Got a question? - Post in our wildlife question section, again if answers don't come quickly enough, (which i'm sure they will!), please take a look at our advice centre on the website.
• Big Garden Birdwatch questions - we do have a forum for the birdwatch. We've had a few questions asking where the results form is, you're a bit too early, the button will appear on the birdwatch page on Saturday!
• Concerns - if you come across any content which you feel is inappropriate, please report this via the little yellow warning triangle that appears below each post, the moderating team will look into it and take the appropriate action.

Rather than go on any further i'll post this and keep it stuck to the front page, please feel free to add any other useful links to the thread, but let's not use this as a chat thread to make it easy for people to pick out the useful bits. If you want to chat or comment about the contents please do so here. If you spy anyone floundering on the forums, feel free to point them to this thread if you think it will help.
