There's also a special forum for Wales under Get Involved > We Love Wales!

To return to the Main community homepage - just click the RSPB logo/Community icon at the top left of the corner.  This used to take you to the main RSPB page, but now will just take you straight back to the community home page :-)

Hope this helps a few people find some lost sections of the forum!  I think I have all the ones in the old forum listed :-)

I now know what the "rich formatting" button is for.

WHY ON EARTH couldn't they have made it standard instead of an option

    Hi JD

That is a very good question!

However, despite the fact some people just prefer to use the Quick Reply button (bottom left), and they had to find a way to have this feature, it wasn't done particularly well because you will find if you try to use the personal Reply button (bottom right) for the last poster, it doesn't work, so the only way to Reply to the last poster with rich formatting is to press the Quick Reply button as well rich formatting.

With the greatest of respect, this seems like a strange way of incorporating it.

    Best wishes Chris

  • Sorry I can't Edit that post (scream!!!) but in actual fact when you are replying to the last poster, you don't need to press the RF button as well as the Reply button. You can press either one or the other depending on whether you want to include their text or a photo, link or what.

Does anyone know why on earth the words 'rich formatting' were chosen?

    Best wishes Chris

  • thats the default name, most forums have it as advanced editing.....

It's both what you do and the way that you do it!

For advice about Birding, Identification, field guides,  binoculars, scopes, tripods,  etc - put 'Birding Tips'   into the search box

  • On a positive note........the search button works really well. I find I'm using it frequently to check out the different features of the forum.

Perhaps a help page or an FAQ page would help new and regular users alike.

  • If their is a long thread that i return to after a number of hours, is their no option so you can the find the latest post on that thread, like their is in alot of other forums on the internet. It is quite a hassle going through posts that i have previously read, to get to the latest unread post in a long thread.

    Ian.

  • I just go to the last page and work my way backwards lol

  • I like to read a thread in order of posts. It's a shame because all the other forums on the internet that i'm a member off, all have the option of getting to the first latest post by just pressing once.

    Ian.
