Since people seem to be having trouble finding the old sections of the forum, I figured I'd put up a "map" of where the old sections are so here goes (hopefully I won't get lost!)

There's also a special forum for Wales under Get Involved > We Love Wales!
To return to the Main community homepage - just click the RSPB logo/Community icon at the top left of the corner. This used to take you to the main RSPB page, but now will just take you straight back to the community home page :-)
Hope this helps a few people find some lost sections of the forum! I think I have all the ones in the old forum listed :-)

Hi MP
It appears that people can see different date formats on here. This is what I can see:

but we don't know how to change it.

Hi Folks
I see all dates in the standard British style. I'm wondering, therefore, it's got something to do with the date settings within Windows. To check this for Windows XP do the following. If you are using Windows 7, I expect there will be something similar.
This will open a dialogue box which looks like this.
You will see the format of the dates, time etc. that Windows is using. If it's not what you want.
This will open a second dialogue box which allows you to change the formats. It will look like this.
Of course this may not be the reason you are all seeing different date formats, but it's worth checking.

erm, how did you check the source code???? surely you mean the page source (different it is affected by browser). This is a browser issue, as it's normal on firefox (on xp home, xp pro, vista, arch and suse :)) what browser are you using?
It's both what you do and the way that you do it!
You cannot fly like an eagle with the wings of a wren. William Henry Hudson (1841 - 1922)
Glad everyone is finding it useful :-)
Chris - I'll add that to the map too :-)
Good idea TJ, but sadly I'm the same as Doggie.
My Windows XP date settings are for standard English - 20/05/2011 and 20 May 2011 , but all I am seeing on the forum are the American versions. On Madpenguin's post I see 15-19-2011. So yes, it must be some sort of website problem.
Cheers, Linda.

Just another quick thought. Most browsers have a language setting under Options or Preferences. They are often set to US English. Might be worth seeing if changing it to UK English makes any difference. I think this is normally for spell checking and I have no idea if affects the date format.
:) standard english to an american company is american, try english(united kingdom)
yes with firefox install the english gb language pack
another one to check is time and date >> timezone
ok in internet exploder, click tools>> internet options
down the bottom is a button labelled languages, in there I have english GB (en-gb), bet you have different
