Uploading Photos

I have just uploaded a few test pics,I assumed to my Gallery and for some reason they have appeared in another post which I didn't want, I just want to add photos to my page and select certain photos to post in the forum or in the community section.....any ideas, I assumed this site worked like Flickr...help. thank you.
