The mother blackbird has been attacked a few days ago & been in bad shape. I'm presuming the male blackbird has been killed as he is nowhere to be seen.
Yesterday the mother crawled almost to the back door & I fed her & she fed the baby. But overnight she's died.
The fledging is still jumping all over her & I have put grapes oats mealworms & water around them.
This is where I need your help:
Do I move the body?
Do I reluctantly interfere with the fledging or see if learns to pick up food?
My garden is safe from land predators & there are lots of places for it to hide
Please let us know how you get on with finding the right advice for the BB youngster, could help others in similar circumstances as we get many enquiries every year around this time & we very often don't hear the outcome! Good luck!

Many thanks for the good news Andrea, hope all will be well now, it usually the male BB who looks after the fledglings whilst the female is laying more eggs!
