Hi all
Please can you settle a slight difference of opinion between my OH and me by voting whether you prefer photo no 1 or photo no 2.
The first pic was taken when it was cloudy and the background is blurred: Photo 1
and the second one was taken after the sun came out so the background is sharper: Photo 2
Please can I have votes of preference for either photo 1 or photo 2.
Thanks guys. I'm not going to say at this stage which one I prefer ;-)
Best wishes Chris

Hi Woodpecker
My vote is for number 1
Hey farmer, farmer, put away the D.D.T now. Give me spots on my apples, but leave me the birds and the bees, please!

Hi Soosin
I already showed everyone that he popped into my Guardiam mealworm & suet pellet feeder :-)
I've been on his visitor list since I started putting out live mealworms. He also likes insect suet pellets and 'sundrops' (suet coated sunflower seeds - mine are from Jacobi Jayne but others probably sell them)
Hi Judi
Exactly what 'tweak' did you do? I'm not Photoshop savvy, but I use Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 so I'm sure I can do something similar with that. It has photo fix, 1 step fix and lot's of different manual fixes.
These 2 photos are just cropped in PSP
Thanks everyone for your votes.
OH said photo 1 was awful with the blurred background and he preferred the sunshine version of photo 2. I said I can probably do a sunshine effect with photo 1 but he said he didn't like the background being blurred. I'm not going to say anything to him though as he has been a real darling and let me upgrade my camera :-)

Hi again Judi
I didn't see this one before I answered. How did you do that?
Hi,
I think P2 is better because of pose and the light in the eye however it is slightly over exposed and P1 has better exposure and feather definition :)

Hi Chris,
both are great shots.
I'm with S and opt for pic 2. The eye and pose are what gets my vote.
I have also took the liberty and cropped and used some editing in Photoshop to enhance pic 2.

Hi
I also prefer 2. I find 1 less sharp overall. 2 gets my vote as the eye highlight helps accentuate the subject, and the pose is more dynamic.
If the subject stands out the background is a minor detail - so though I usually try and blur when taking I can't be bothered monkeying about in post production!

Hi Woodpecker,
I 'm not going to be much help either, I do like the background in pic 1, but the bird in pic 2, the birds stand out more with a blurred, less busy background, it gives pictures, I think a more professional look, I like what Judi did with pic one.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.
Hiya
I too like the blurred background in pic 1 but the bird in pic 2 'cos of the light in his eye. But both are great photos and you are lucky having a Nuthatch in your garden.
