Hi here are a few of the many videos i have that i promised a while back.

Ive just started uploading them so there will be more to come soon.

Im not the best cameraman in the world but its a bit hard to keep still while watching aswell :)

So i must improve on the steadiness ;)

  • Wow! Never seen a log eared owl in the wild! Brittany is a beautiful place too! Loved the peregrine vs buzzard video!

  • Hi MarJus,

Thanks, as you can see they are not the best videos but didnt have a tripod with me at the time.

The 2 peregrine videos were on the wrekin a couple of years ago.

The buzzard being mobbed by magpies was not far from the wrekin, you can see the wrekin in the background.

Yes brittany is great for wildlife we go twice a year & see loads of stuff when there.

Where about in brittany have you been to? do you go regular?

  • Hi Nissus.

Really like the videos because they capture great dramatic moments of nature.  Thanks for posting them.

    Paul.

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Hi Heron77,

Thanks & no problems glad you liked them.

Keep checking back as i will add more each time i get chance.

    Thanks.

    Hi Nisus

Great photography of the Long Eared Owl, and it is a great feat to see anyday.

Hope that you do not mind about my observation of a Black Cap singing its heart out in the background of your video.

    Love your Video anyday, and have played it more than once here  {big smile}

    Regards

  • Superb videos Nisus, many thanks for sharing those. I am really looking forward to seeing more.

The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.

The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

    Hi Nisus,

Unfortunately I've only been once! We stayed near Vannes in Morbihan. We went all along the south coast and inland as well. Have yet to explore the far west and all of the north coast! I shall definitely be returning in the not too distant future! I loved it there! It cetyainly is somewhere I'd go to regularly, but it's time... My holidays are currently spent either in Cornwall or Scotland as I love both so much!! ;-)

    Hi Blackbird,

Thanks glad you liked the long eared owl.

Yes it was a blackcap you heard, they were everywhere i went, that day i saw a male & female together.

    Hi Squirrel,

Thanks glad you like them too.

I will be posting more soon.

    Hi MarJus,

We bought a place out there in 2004 to gut & renovate,(when the euro was good) its about 1hr 30mins north of Vannes.

Its near Corlay about 35 mins from Saint Brieuc.

Well i'm supposed to be doing the work on it when im there but cant help keep going outside there is so much going on.

There is a big forest in front of us a wood to the side of us & open land, fields & farms all around.

The forest has wild boar,  deer, red squirrel, lots of birds & birds of prey also owls about etc...

I am in the building trade so doing the work is not a problem for me but there's so many distractions ;D

Basically the house is a hide in the middle of all this wildlife :D :D

And yes Scotland is nice too & has got some amazing scenery hasn't it & i also like cornwall.

  • Wow! That sounds idyllic Nisus!! I can quite empathise with all those distractions! I wouldn't get much work done either!! At the end of the day, as long as it's liveable (somewhere dry to sleep and something to cook on) it doesn't matter how long it takes! After all, the reason for getting this place surely is to enjoy the location! Look forward to hearing more about the wildlife there and seeing more pics/videos! :-)

  • Nisus have just viewed the video link.  Red Kite amazing.  What a divine creature the owl was too. I have never seen anything like that before.  I can understand why getting the reno completed is taking time - think we would all prefer to be out looking on nature.  The location sounds beautiful.  As Marjus says: 'looking forward.. to more videos".

    cheers,

    jude.
