The adult male is the same male (he is ringed) but we think the female is a new bird as she doesn’t have the aberrant white feather on her head which has been present in previous years.
3 eggs have been laid which is a normal clutch size for hobbies.
Egg 1, 2nd June 6:47 pm
Egg 2, 5th June 6:46 am (60 hours)
Egg 3, 7th June 8:04 pm (61.25 hours)
Hatching should start approx. end of the first week in July
Hasty snaps to start us off:
THREE eggs:

This season the cam has been enhanced with nighttime IR, hooray!
Mama tucked for the night:

Not a good day for the two eyases,IMHO, but they remained active.
We're ready!
I saw this eyas get 2 bites, the other none - but for some of the attempted feeds Mama blocked our view.
"fun" with an eggshell half:
Oh no, not again!
20:00 - Two hungry little eyases after an attempted supper.

Early this morning:
No sign of a third hatch yet:

Might be better if it doesn't happen with all the difficulty she is having with feeding the two that are there!

That's what I said to a commenter on YouTube - and it looks like our wish may be granted:

Not a lot from me today - I see from Chat that there were several feeds, of which this was one:
Mama very often blocked our view.

I didn't see a lot of liveliness from the eyases thru the day - but in the evening their stillness may have done them a favour when a Great Spotted Woodpecker showed interest !!!
13 July
I can't show you their faces but must post the evidence that it's a sunny morning ️
Certainly not a good day for #2, and not a wonderful day for any of the family, with more rain but gratefully not all the time.

RIP #2
Someone on Chat thought that it had eaten well on the 13th, therefore starvation was not the cause of death - however I didn't see it that way.
Still not loads of food coming in, but these are random occasional scenes from the day:

I did check thru yesterday - quite a lot of rain, a couple of small feeds.
This morning, a tiny chicklet for breakfast, it looked like a successful feed. Not crystal clear so early in the morning.

That's a bit of a shock Scylla, did not catch up yesterday ... combination of awful weather & inexperienced parent maybe?? That nestcup does look too deep & not wide enough for easy access though
