In 2022, four Barn Owlets, deemed to be 3 females and 1 male (the youngest), successfully fledged.
Here they are at their ringing day on 7.7.22
Hopefully, the resident pair will successfully breed in the nest box again this season.
I've just refreshed the chat on the website and there is a pic, and separate comment, posted 2 hours ago showing both BO's in the box early this morning (the exact time on the snap had been cropped)
Pic copied over
Phew!
Female still resting at present
She left the box at 23:20 (Sorry, I was too late to get a pic before she headed off out)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some pics taken earlier this evening...
I thought she'd heard something
Yawning
Then preening
More preening a couple of hours later
And rested until she left
Flooring for comparison
5.3.23 Just checking the cam for the first time this evening to find the female resting. I haven't seen any activity in the box since the 2nd March.
The female's left profile
A sound outside?
She moved to the back
23:03 She exited the box pretty quickly, my fingers were not quick enough to take a close up pic!
7.3.23 Our lovely female has just paid a very quick visit!
She had shaken her feathers here after arriving
Went to the back of the box
Turned around
Stood close to the exit before leaving
She arrived a few minutes ago
Apart from a quick preen, the female has been resting since coming back in
Currently, as I sign off
Edit: She left the box at 00:06 (I had a feeling that I should stay online for a little bit longer!)
Preening
A shake of her feathers
Beautiful...
Off she went
And she came back again
10.3.23 One in the box, is it the male?
