In 2022, four Barn Owlets, deemed to be 3 females and 1 male (the youngest), successfully fledged.
Here they are at their ringing day on 7.7.22
Hopefully, the resident pair will successfully breed in the nest box again this season.
I haven't seen any visits to the box until now - the female was in and was about to leave. It was a brief visit as I had only checked the cam less than 10 minutes beforehand
The female is in the box. According to chat, she was in at 20:06 but could have arrived earlier than that. She had left at 20:12 so this is her 2nd visit.
Preening
A yawn or was she calling?
Having a scratch
Waiting patiently for the male
Preening again
Definitely calling!
Just before leaving the box

I don't know what time she arrived but it wasn't before 20:45
She wandered over to the front of the box then turned and looked towards the exit
A quick preen
Another look and then left the box
There had been flooring disturbance overnight (lots of grass strands too) in comparison to the picture I took last evening after the female had left. I forgot to take a pic first thing this morning before going to work
The female is in again this evening, I didn't see her arrive
Edit: She left at 22:17
The female is in, she was eating when I first saw her
She picked the prey up
About to down it
All gone!
