Unfortunately there's no IR on this nestcam.
As some of you know, I shouldn't be spending time on this - but will try to post "interesting" bits ufn.

Male and female hobbies look identical although the female is the slightly larger bird.
31 July - 03 August
Branching started on the 2nd
AK takes a leap, misjudges the distance and takes a plunge..
You can still hear it calling from below, so it's probably okay..
In video: mum brings new food to the nest

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
04 August still!
I'm very behind because of sundry, varied "difficulties" Here are some highlights from yesterday, with AL branching well and little AJ making some headway in the feeding dept:
Hope to do some 05 Aug this evening/night.
AL has fledged from a branch at 16:47..
AJ is very close to branching and lost almost all of its down.. edit: AJ just branched at 18:55
Unfortunately nothing has been seen of AK, the falcon that dropped out of sight yesterday :-(
It is barely visible at the top center...
And the branching of AJ at 18:55
I do wonder if they will return to the nest at all (maybe AJ crawling back up?) but otherwise... this might be it..
Edit 6 aug 6:15: AJ is fine. See flapping wings just behind the nest and calling for food
At 0700 this morning food was brought and AJ decides to climb into the nest to be fed..
AJ has fledged at 14:01:30 !!
it climbed back after a parent brought food from spending the night in the lower branches..
was visited by it's sibling for a few hours, but when that left decided it was time to leave also.. only to get stuck in the foliage again..
This time however she managed to get some good grip and flapping going and left the nest..
The screenshot of the video is of course AL taking off
