Len Pick Trust Owl Project
We have lost one of our chicks
June 10th 2022
Sadly our smallest chick died on Wednesday afternoon.
Nothing is wasted in nature so the second biggest chick ate it.
The incident was witnessed by one of our regular viewers.
The bad weather last week will have no doubt contributed to its demise as hunting will have been difficult

Sad about len pick havent had time to look , bit of a long night for me doh!!

Even with playback Kate I never seem to catch Len Pick young on their own, suppose being well supplied with prey means Mum goes out less?

Thanks Kate, must be a bundle of four youngsters?  Have they made a mistake saying all six hatched when it looks like a whole egg left?..

Back on the 4th June I posted scap after they said sixth laid, and

'wondered if it was then a egg shell in the middle'?

See that Kate but I couldn't make it out as pic often too dark ... maybe have to wait til they've grown a bit more & exploring to be sure?
