A matter of great concern now as neither bird sighted recently ... last pics from Sweetwing's boyfriend on 6th Feb ...Nick been to St Michaels & around on 13th, 14th & today with no luck ... have put appeals out on Twitter, FB & messaged Sweetwing ... if any others on here are in the vicinity would they please keep watching ... any info direct to nickdixondevon@aol.com ... his email address posted at his request!

My bf has been around the area, but not spotted any falcon presence.

He went to St Michael's just now. No falcons. But a woman who lives opposite the church said she saw a falcon there yesterday.

She certainly is old now, could be challenged at any time, there was another falcon seen a couple of weeks ago!  Tiercel is a young bird though ... very worrying situation here!

Has been plenty of bonding despite the old eggs, even making new scrape near cam end! Birds have not been spotted anywhere in the near vicinity, I fear the dreadful weather may have taken it's toll ... hope I'm wrong!

I hope so, too, Wendy, fingers crossed. But if the female is old as Alan suggests and if she has come to grief, perhaps the male has less incentive to hang around very close to the box. He may be perched outside somewhere out of view and out of the wind. If both have come to grief, then we can still hope that a sprightly new pair finds this ideal home.

Sad though it is to think our regular female may have perished I certainly hope the box will be adopted by another pair before breeding season!
