VLC users, please see my post in Tech Test thread :)

Wendy, especially - please take the plunge, it will free up your browser and recording software for other stuff.  I can help :-*

I've got a bit of voice back today and am not feeling as actively ill :)  I see in the press today that they targeted the wrong flu strain in the vaccine, which explains why my brother went down with it so early in the season >:(

Scylla, Glad to hear you are better.  Fingers crossed that you and your brother continue to improve.  Sorry to hear about your flu jabs.  We had been getting ours from a chemist for a small fee for several years because we wanted them before we reached the age to qualify for NHS jabs.  After receiving jabs in October at the chemist's we were told that the chemist's jabs in 2017 work against 4 flu types while the NHS jabs were only for 3 flu types (I saw an article in the paper today as well!)  After our jabs, I heard (don't know if this is true or not!) that the entire business of flu jabs is a bit of a gamble anyway because the time needed to produce the jabs means that they can only use information from the previous year's flu strains.  Although we've both had bad colds in the last 2 months (and me a cough which is pretty much over), I don't think we've had flu (yet!--fingers crossed!).

Wishing a Happy and Healthy New Year to All!

    Kind regards,

    Ann
