They are certainly not very attractive at this stage!
I just saw one of the older ones flexing wing flippers while lifting the head. They are getting stronger. I see pin feathers coming out on the wings.
Glad to see a nest full of activity, they are lucky to be in a safe locality, I've just found three blackbird eggs strewn on the field with yolk inside, shame, but hopefully the parents will have another go.
Lot to learn
Oh no! What do you think happened to land them in the field? The raven youngsters are now hungry all the time with gullets open, and the parents are busy cleaning up the nest of poo and dropped food in between feedings. So hard being a raven parent.
There was a hedge about two yards away CC, could have been a stoat, weasel, magpie crow etc., it's a hard start for all the little birds. The ravens have the advantage of size and evidently dedication from their parents.
Wow - so they took the whole eggs or broke them and you saw the yolks? Strange that they would leave the yolks...
Here is a snap of the little monsters today!
They are growing daily. Mum doing a good job.
I think I can hear them nasally creaking (baby croaking?) for food when a parent is on the nest. Otherwise, this is the first time I get a clear view of all beaks in the air!
Yes - Mum is doing a great job! Today's update! I just saw Mum eating the poop off the nest. YUCK.
A little video of the sweet things.
