I'm very happy to say that the stunning pair of ravens who built a nest on a fire escape at Wellesley College last year have returned for a second season! They are incubating three eggs.
Feast your eyes on this:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
White smudges? On crows they're a sign of a lack of nutrition.
So which one should we call Stripe?
I know - the white smudges may be the remains of poops from the nest. :) My last pic shows it.

That's entirely possible as well.
Similar time. :)
CC, you ratbag! I just got this:
I was just wishing it would move a bit!
I can see why they've set up the alternative camera.
Hi Clare - guilty as charged! It is a very handy alternate camera for anticipating events! ~ the "Ratbag" :)
On on the right has poop on its lil face near its eye. Mom momentarily tried to pick it off without pecking but changed her mind - too risky I guess.
The chicks can't yet hold their heads still enough - though they are visibly improving.
