I'm very happy to say that the stunning pair of ravens who built a nest on a fire escape at Wellesley College last year have returned for a second season! They are incubating three eggs.
Feast your eyes on this:
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Brilliant capture C, cute little feeding funnels!! Lol

Aren't they all gorgeous?
Lovely Clare --- they make me laugh! :-* I am wondering if they can see now, as when they hatch they are blind, and only sense and hear activity. They are getting blacker by the day now - soon we will see only black with the pink mouths and blue eyes. :)

At least they will stand out more from the nesting materials then CC!
Edit: Just snaffled this from Wiki ... ""The Australian raven is distinguished from the Australian crow species by its throat ..... They also engage in allopreening, where birds will preen each other's head .... Their eyes beginopening at 5 to 6 days of age and are fully open by 11 to 12 ...""
They've found a new place to perch:
Good job! The nest is getting pretty crowded and the parents probably can't fit any more.
I saw blinky little eyes, but couldn't get close enough to see any color.
I think Pauline currently has white smudges on her left wing, and Dad does not.
