I found this video on Youtube, while following the travels of ospreys, and thought it deserved wider exposure. These are the birds of the Ria de Aveiro, an estuary on the central west coast of Portugal.
You can just enjoy the film; I think the editing of the images, the bird calls and the Lou Reed track is particularly skilful.
Or, try to guess the species. I’ve jotted down many of them, but am having to get the book out for some of the waders, which I am never sure about.

This was a lovely video Sue. Thanks for sharing.
Hazy, are you going bonkers! I don't think so.

I was sitting out in the drizzle earlier this morning trying to get a photo of the Jay; I was wearing my fleece (not waterproof) but made sure the camera had a cover over it even though I was getting soaked .......so I'm half way there lol !!

It's amazing how we go to great lengths to protect our expensive gear but not ourselves lol !! Wouldn't mind but I only got one pic of the Jay for all my patience and effort .......and likely outcome of bronchitis or pneumonia lol
Well worth the effort, thanks for sharing the clip.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
I think it was one of the chat threads Clare, possibly the weekly one or was it Non LG osprey sightings. There's so many I can't keep count.

I can appreciate that! I don't think it was on the Weekly Chat as I regularly read that one.
I know this is an old thread but I've only just stumbled into this great video! Just beautiful--the birds, filming, editinģ, music all gell together into a wonderful whole. Not very good at identifying all the birds but will keep at it, trying not to peep at all your ids. But the end graphics are way out!! I'm so jealous of his skill with that stickman :) :)
I'm so glad you bumped up this old thread Ann, I hadn't seen it before and it is so well worth it, will bookmark it now so I can look it over once more another day when its raining.
Lot to learn
