Hello all, I don't have very good camera but I've been trying to take some shots of the invasion of siskins in my garden. In three days it has grown from 5-6 to around 30+. Its crazy, does anyone know if they will just stop here for a few days before moving on?
They all sit on my washing line but my camera isn good enough to take a picture showing them all.
Anywhere here we go...
Make me a coffee and put me in front of the kitchen window!
Hi Emma,
Great photo's of your Siskins. Hopefully they will stick around for a while, until they're natural food chain is in abundance.

Hi Emma.30+ siskins is an amazing number, I'd be delighted to get 5 or 6. I'm not sure if they'll stay around as the two or three I get in late winter/ early spring tend to dissapear after a few days. It might be a differant story with 30 odd though. Brilliant pictures. Thanks for posting them.Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Wow! Lovely photos Emma. You are so lucky to have them come to your feeders as when they have visited me in previous years I could never encourage them to use the feeders. They would only take seed strewn on the path. Well done!
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!

It's amazing to see so many, the noise the morning is deafning, they all sit in my old oak tree and warm up their vocal chords. They seem to have disappeared for a snooze just now, I can't hear a peep.
Emma, you lucky girl. 30 plus is amazing! I do hope they stay around for you. I've only ever seen one. I love them hanging upside down and almost back to front to get at the seed. Brilliant.
I also love your signature!!!! Very appropriate in recent days!
Cheers, Linda.

Lovely to see your photograph. I know what you mean by the noise. You don't have to see them, you hear them first.
Wow! 30+? How fantastic. Lucky you. Thanks for the photos.

Just a quick Siskin update to say things have quietened down ever so slightly (still have around 20-odd around) but I think some have moved on.
Still a noisy bunch though and my lone goldfinch returned today and used one af the feeders, which is a first for me - happy days :)
Congrats on the goldfinch. When his friends see him on the feeder they will come and have a go, I'm sure.
Nice one Emma! Siskins are gorgeous little birds!
