Chris Packhams Animals Guide to Britain tonight features the phantom of the woods, the goshawk. I'm sure it will be full of other interesting creatures as well, definitely worth a watch! BBC2 8-9 PM

  •  Wasn't Ellie impressive.

In many ways I'm glad they used a falconers bird, as it would have been pretty short section otherwise.

Even Attenborough's Life of birds only had a tiny section of usable footage, in the meat eaters episode, they show a juvenile hunting rats on the forest floor, last's around 30sec and the budget for that series was mega.

  • yep, I figure in terms of wildlife, only eagles, eagle owl and deer would be beyond them.

Bet they have preferences, my local ones have a penchant for corvid (mainly magpies)
