See Jan, that's something else I need to sit down and learn....the editing software! Hubby bought my Paint Shop Pro Photo XL last year but I still haven't learnt how to use it yet. All very confusing. I have a whole set of conference photos which quite frankly are awful considering the person who took them is supposed to be good. I need to try and doctor some of them for publishing in our journal but haven't a clue! I need to do evening classes or something but am always too tired or don't have enough time.
Thanks for the tips on smileys......I can't seem to do that with my laptop :(
Make the most of today because, unlike Sky+, there isn't a rewind button.
You can put smileys in from google

hi Paula
Fabulous pictures of the Wasps, and theTawny Owl. They are beautifully taken - the details is fantastic to see,
We are still getting the hang of our camera at the moment. Not taken many bird pictures but we have concentrated on other wildlife which is easier to photograph. We have a Canon Powershot G10. It is small and compact - and with no additional lenses. I think carrying all the extra bits and peices is not for us as I feel it just weighs you down at the best of times. Things get lost and broken very easily.
Not heard of the remote control facility on a camera but there again we are all learning here
Paula: Sorry to hear about your joint problems with arthritus. It is such a painful condition to have. It must affect your ability to take photos at times - when the cold weather is around - that affects hand movement. Hopefully that is not the case.
Hi Jan: I like your 'smilies' icons a lot. must try that idea.
Regards
Kathy and Dave

Neat... how, please?
Squirrel
The necessity of bird-watching is a really good reason for avoiding all forms of housework.
The dust will still be there tomorrow - the birds may not be!
Hi Squirrel
If you look on the google task bar click on the add buttons icon(shaped like a blue cross) in the search bar type smileys this gives the option of adding smiley of the moment and smiley of the day buttons to your task bar. you click on these select your smiley then right click and copy. You then right click again when you are replying to a post and paste it in.
Hope that helps.
Graham
Hi Graham... many thanks for that - I will have a practice. Your jumping smiley is great - not seen that one before.
Hi,
A birdie one for you
Cannot do the smilies here either {whew}
Back to the photography issues once more on this thread
Like you have mentioned, I would love to have photo-editing software installed on my PC at home.. It is also true that you have to take the time to sit and learn the basics of manipulating photos that you take time to improve them.
We just have the basic software that comes along with the cameras we have such Canon and the Coolpix (our basic snap camera) . The current up to date packages that people can buy now go down well with a lot of professional photographers. I know I can ask this question elsewhere how people find the editing packages. Will do a bit of investigating, and see what I find. Then post an answer here.
The bottom line is maybe it is just playing about with the software until you get used to using it.
