A very frosty morning here again decided to head to RSPB Titchwell Marsh again one of my favourite places to visit.
On the way I spotted some geese in a field so hubby stopped and reversed down the road to a opening in the hedge and there was the biggest flock of geese I've ever seen. Managed to get a few photos before something spooked then and they all flew off. I think they are Pink footed geese. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The last photo is only a small part of how many there were.
At Titchwell as we are walking along there was a little Robin sat on the bench so stopped and took a photo Robins are one of my favourite birds. He wasn't scared of us at all.
Spotted a Curlew and a Redshank.
Further up the track I spotted some little birds hopping around in the frozen grass. Managed to get a photo of one of them. They aren't brilliant because he was camouflage in the grass but I finally managed to get a photo of what I believe is a Skylark.
The poor ducks weren't impressed that some of their water was frozen. A couple of green winged Teal at in a patch g sunshine.
Last but not least we stopped for a coffee and hot sausage roll. Highly recommend a coffee there. A little Robin came and sat on my dogs lead (he had his flexi lead on) on the table and waited for crumbs off the sausage roll.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos hope you're all having a good day.
That was a lot of geese Sal . I like the quirky pose of the robin in the last photo.
Lovely set in lovely light Sal Cloudy here all day, but still having a good day coz week off work
I don't think your Teal are Green Winged, as (according to my book) they would lack the horizontal white stripe, and have a vertical one by the breast. The geese look right for pink footed tho, and google lens agrees
Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I'm not sure on the teal I've got a couple of birds identifying apps on my phone and they both say green winged teal so not sure.
Hope you have a good week off work
Thanks Snappy, yeah there was a lot of geese lol. I was talking to the little Robin and it cocked it's head as I took the photo
Lovely Photos Sal, the first Robin photo is fabulous, and by the look of your sightings you had a great day. Thanks for sharing
