Took my daughter to Titchwell Marsh at the weekend as she also loves birds and photography.
While there I managed to snap 3 birds I've not photographed or seen before and we spotted a Chinese water deer while we were there as well never seen one of them before either so it was a day of firsts for all of us.
Chinese water deer. You can just about see his tusks.
I might be wrong but I think this is a meadow pipet it was really hard to see because of the back ground and they didn't want to sit still lol
Again I think this is a Marsh Harrier he was flying over the dunes so had to zoom in on him. We saw him again later flying over where we saw the Chinese water deer.
Another first for me a Pintail.
While we were in the hide a flock of Golden plover flew in and a Brent goose in the front.
Nice selection Sal, well done with your firsts.
Thank you Snappy, I took the photo of the pintail and by the time I tried to find it again to show my daughter it had disappeared lol there were a few on the little island where the golden plover were but they had their heads under their wings
Great set of shots Sal, great sightings too
Well done Sal it looks like you and your daughter had a fabulous day, I have never seen a Chinese water deer before and until recently I had never seen a pintail, it’s great when you see a new species and your day was one to remember for sure.
