This roe Deer made my day, only the third time I have seen a deer at this location
The deer was at least 150m away so I was pleased I got some Images of it, Hope you like them
What another wonderful collection ILR, still yet to see a mandarin duck, oh and well done on your Roe deer! My daughter had to stop the car yesterday as she left the Haugh as one was stood right in front of her in middle of the road
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Nice to see the mandarin ducks ILR, I have only ever seen one female. Always good to see the deer.
Nice set of sightings and shots ILR, only ever seen a Mandarin briefly as I drove by a reserve up north, there are some in perth I believe
Thank you Linda it was great to see the Mandarin ducks again, they are a sight to see for sure and as I was walking back to the car through the woods I saw the deer at the far end of the field, It saw me at the same time but because of the distance away it must have felt I was no threat to it and stayed there mooching around for around a couple of minutes before it disappeared. I bet your daughter loved seeing the deer so close up Linda. She won’t forget that experience ever I am sure.
Thanks Snappy the mandarins are a fabulous duck and always put a smile on your face when you see them. The deer was great.to see as well as it was only the third time I had seen one at this reserve.
Thank you Scozmos we are lucky to see the Mandarins in Yorkshire I have seen them at three different venues and it is always a treat to see them, as was the roe deer having only seen them at this reserve for the third time.
Lovely set of photos ILR and species including the colourful Mandarin ducks. We are lucky enough to have dozens of breeding ones on our residential parkland although they tend to be rather shy birds (unless on areas with a lot of public traffic ) and often lurk in the long grass or even up trees where they can nest !! Always lovely to see the deer too.

Fantastic photos ILR love mandarin ducks had a pair of them when I was little. They are such pretty ducks. I saw a male one the other day while walking my little dog but sadly didn't have my camera with me. Haven't seen him since I'm hoping I'll see him again.
Thank you Hazel, do you have a pond or lake in your parkland, our mandarins usually stay on the lake or pond.
Hi Sal Elizabeth thank you, Hope you see your male Mandarin again, as you say they are a lovely duck enough to brighten your day.
