  • Thank you Hazel it was a collection of photos from three walks as you have probably noticed with sky differences, since we moved house we are lucky we have venues close to us including the garden and local walks and the variety of birds are diverse dependent on venues. I do go further a field because of species that I may be lucky to see and I love Bempton Cliffs and Studley Royal for the Deer. And the beauty of visiting different venues is there is always the chance of seeing a bird that you have not seen before. I still have a number of reserves that are on my list to visit that I am hoping to visit probably next year.

  • Plenty of variety ILR, nice views of the Kestrel perched and in flight. A lot of geese about, soon time for us to do a WWT Welney visit for the swans and geese.

  • I love Bempton Cliffs

Well,  it's finally on the bucket list for us as we're booked in to a rental house for a week next summer !!  After seeing such lovely photos from formumates' visits and all the close encounters of the bird kind I thought we'd better put Bempton to the top of our list.      Your recent walks certainly were rewarding so thanks for sharing,

  • You will love it at Bempton Cliffs Hazel when you go don’t forget to go to north landing and the lighthouse as well. I was in Whitby for three months earlier in the year and I visited Bempton five times and was lucky enough to see the short eared owls flying about through the day, the puffins had arrived and the gannets, and the other sea birds, I was really lucky with the weather too. You will love it their Hazel, looking forward to seeing your photos already.

  • Thank you Snappy the Kestrel on the post was a proper long way away and I was thinking when I was taking the photos I bet these will be rubbish but I think we just got away with it. Enjoy WWT Welney  look forward to see the photos.

  • Ahhh Bempton, wonderful turnout for you as always ILR

    (Pardon the Scottish Accent)

  • Thanks Linda yes they were a varied selection, make sure you see my next post I think you will like them

  • Thanks for the helpful info ILR,  still seems a long way off yet but at least it's booked in !!   We're back to Leighton Moss in a week's time - for almost a week !  Pity the days are now so much shorter though.
