Thank you Wendy it’s always a special day when you see a Kingfisher and this one really liked his or her photo taken.
What another fabulous day at St Aidan's ILR, think I must visit one day
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Yes Linda you must, it seems to get better and better and kingfishers always brighten your day when you see one, not forgetting all the other wildlife and the resident little owl.
Great photo's ILR, I have only ever seen a Little Owl once. Always nice to get a Kingfisher.
Hi Snappy the little Owl is a resident, it hides between the railway sleepers and some days will sit on the rear fence. It’s always great to see and is usually the first or last thing to see. The kingfisher was a great find it was in an area that had little egrets, Herons, and other wildlife and the kingfisher stayed for a long time flying from one position to another which enabled us to photograph it in different locations. St Aidans is a fabulous reserve and usually has lots of wildlife to see and well worth a visit.
Lovely set of sightings and shots ILR, love the young Grebe shots
Great pics ILR and always special to see the colourful Kingfisher; looks like a male one. We've got 5 males on the local parkland but not seen lady Kingie yet so on a mission LOL
