Hi Ian. That's a lovely shot! Were there many puffins? One of the regular posters here was there a couple of weeks back and said they were very thin on the ground.
Very thin. Met someone who had a photo of 2 and thar was about it.. Still great though
Great shot Ian. I am hoping to visit Bempton Cliffs for my first time mid June. I am going to Whitby for a week, so that is one of my planned days out.

As for puffin numbers being depleted, I recall I think summer 2023 Bempton wildfowl generally have seen a suddenly high mortality rate, and were investigating potential links with avian flu. I'm not sure what the findings were in the end, but that could be one of the reasons why the puffin numbers are down.
