I thought I would try and post one of my photo's a day, that I like.
Coal Tit on a Gorse bush - Photo taken at: www.rspb.org.uk/.../the-lodge
Great timing Snappy. I Googled Eider ducks and crabs, and came up with this. A bit gory ... .
'Eiders are diving ducks that can dive up to 65 feet to find food on the seabed. They swallow small prey underwater, but crabs are trickier to eat and require the eider to tear off the claws and legs before swallowing the body'.
Wonderful picture!! Long tailed tits are one of my favourite birds. You have really captured the dusky pinks tones of this birds feathers well and have picked up the pinks in the tree bark behind it
Thanks William
Thanks Hazy It was one of the closest views I have had of the eider.
Thanks BD , from the number of missing legs it was well on the way...
Thanks Lizzie , I was lucky it landed in a great spot.
