Looking out of our Window yesterday I saw a big splash and there to my surprise was this Cormorant. It decided that it needed a pike for breakfast. Unfortunately for the Cormorant the pike was quite large. It slapped the bird several times with its tail and the fight was lost. 1-0 to the pike !!!!! Hope you enjoy !!
Superb shot! One to be proud off. Love how you have caught the eye of the pike too ...
A fabulous catch for you, but perhaps not the cormorant.
A few years back I saw a heron try it's luck with an eel. It was fascinating watching the heron tussle and then fly off with the eel, though I'm not so sure the eel stayed for lunch, after watching how the eel was wriggling as the heron flew off.

Bambles said:That sounds fascinating. Last year we saw a Heron eating a small Water Hen. Bit gruesome but thats nature !!!!
Hunt and be hunted, is nature, and it can be quite harsh sometimes and let nature take its course.
I've found the posting where I shared the photos of the heron, which you can view.

It was an awesome sight.

You're welcome
