Another walk around one of my favourite nature reserves

Nice to see you back out and about again ILR...you will be glad you went with all them butterflies around...I only saw a blue one briefly yesterday as the wind blew it right over the trees lol...Its easy to see why it's your favourite reserve

Thanks PB the reserve is one of my favourites, it’s called North cave wetlands and should you want to visit they have a great butty van and well worth a visit.

Hi Linda, No it’s not my favourite, it’s one of my favourites, there are a few that I visit and each have there own qualities and can be better at different times of year, we are very fortunate in Yorkshire, we have plenty of reserves to choose from and there are still lots yet to discover. Yes it was nice to get out again and the weather was good and stayed dry.

I see you have photographed a Speckled Wood Butterfly, it was on my shopping list today. I think I have one, yet to check...

I like your Heron, I photographed one today. It was plotting a raid on the ornamental pond at RSPB Sandy :)

Thanks SM there were quite a few speckled wood and other butterflies about yesterday, it’s always better for them when the sun is out I find. I love to photograph herons, it’s amazing the size of prey they can eat.
