Sometimes photography is just good luck (though less so for the bank vole).

We were walking along a country lane and a bank vole leapt from the wall onto the verge beside us so I began to take some photos - wasn't anticipating what followed!

Love it! Fantastic! Especially the way you kept the shutter going and followed the action.

My cat is forever bring voles into house. I am forever rescuing them. Bought some brilliant humane traps. Three of them, always on standby, sprinkled around downstairs. Also two sets of gardening gloves on standby: one pair in living room, one pair in dining room. I have become very adept at catching voles, and mice. Not so adept at catching the buggers and not having them sink their teeth into me, the ungrates -hence the gardening gloves on standby.

90% luck, 5% field craft, 5% camera skills.
