The bittern came out to fish late afternoon. The photos where taken with a Canon 80D, with a 55-250 mm lens. The sun was very low in the sky and directly behind the bird. It has taken me three years to get full photo of a bittern, not just a back or head.

Definitely worth the wait.
The last time I saw a bittern was back in 2006, but I've heard plenty since!
