In the Garden

On the drive when I opened the curtains today...

Is it a Female Sparrowhawk, it flew off with what looks like a pigeon ?

Looks more male to me with his grey feathers... not seen one around my garden for long time :-(

Often see blue butterflies in the garden, very rare to see one land and surprised it did today with the high wind at the moment.

Holly Blue:

No pics unfortunately but doing very well for butterflies in garden this year due to having several very well established Buddleia bushes ... yesterday I saw three Commas, three Red Admirals, one Peacock and three Hummingbird Hawkmoths at same time on one plant when it was quite breezy ... today we have gales but my OH spotted seven Red Admirals on same plant at once!

That's an impressive number of Butterflies and Moths, I am lucky to get 1 at a time... 

I have tried to photograph a Hummingbird Hawkmoth on a number of occasions, had my best results last week at the RSPB The lodge Nature Reserve.
