I'm gonna get the hump with you soon Snappy... even through the trees you get better Red Kite shots than me (I counted 14 on the way home Norfolk, all low, and slow and of course the camera was all packed away, and nowhere to stop either lol) and I think I've only seen Brambling a couple of times, and briefly then.

Wow SM, I bet you are doing cart wheels now having seen a brambling, Well done and great photos. I once thought i saw one at my feeders, It wasn't long after I got Interested in bird watching and I asked a guy who was supposed to be in the know about birds what the bird was, his reply was a Brambling. I later after I got to know a little about Identifying ing birds that I questioned his ID and i posted on this site to confirm what the bird was, and the reply was a sparrow, I had my doubts of the bird being a Brambling but it did have markings and colour on the bird that looked uncommon to a sparrow, at least I thought it did. But you never stop learning. I suppose I was just hoping it was. Sighing Lol. Maybe see one, one day with a lot of luck.
