Another walk along side the River

Well i did get up early and I was at the River for 7,30am, Its a river i know quite well and i was hoping to see a hare, but not today, but i did see a kingfisher but it was a long way away as was the Buzzard as you can tell from the quality of the images. Having said that i was pleased to see the wren and the Heron, i couldnt resist the cows
they just looked at me as if to say take my photo., I Also saw around eight red kites but again too far away to photograph,

Well done on getting outta bed so early lol....you were well rewarded. Iknow what you mean about the Heron and the cows as I have similar pics from my walk the other day...although it was Heron that was eyeing up the cows and following them ...we sat laughing at it wondering what the hell it was up to. Wrens a tricky to catch as you will know.

With regards the wrens it was quite dark and I saw a bit of activity and I had no idea what I had photographed until I got home, but I was really pleased to find out that they were wrens. Shame I didn’t see a hare, and the red kites were too high up in the sky. I really enjoyed the walk just a bit disappointed with some of the photos but I suppose I can be forgiven the odd time, I hope Lol

Looks like a good day out ILR with such a lovely sightings and good selection of wildlife and the cows looking on.

Thank you Hazel I couldn’t resist the cows I liked there colours and they were very inquisitive, I am going to start getting out earlier in the morning I had the river to myself and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

I do love to see cattle, I guess that must be down to the days when I worked on farms as a teenager, most of the farms, though mixed, were more dairy, so milking, along with all the associated cleaning, was quite a large part of the day, twice a day.

As for the kingie, I'd be more than happy to get those photos, and no branches for it to hide behind to offset the autofocus.

Not forgetting the swan family, heron, wren and that last photo, the glossy river scene, all just perfect.
