Great set of photos and sightings ILR and wonderful to see the R-t-Shrike, must have been a thrill to see it.

You're certainly racking up the super photo's ILR... I was at Portland today, and only managed a seals nose...not the whole thing!! And you can't beat the stunningly magnificent Gannets, although the Shrike comes close :o)

Lovely set of photos, the Red- backed Shrike is a striking and rare find, I've only ever seen the Great Grey Shrike and that was only once a few years ago.

Yes I was, it was well worth the trip and the seals were sunning themselves was a sight to see. The gannets with there young was nice to see too. Thanks Linda.

Hi Hazel Yes it was, It had an audience of around fifteen people and it was posing in and out of a thorn bush for all to see and photograph. A lovely day, Thank you Hazel.

Thanks very much PB, the Shrike was the reason for going I must admit, although it was a gamble in seeing it but when I arrived and spoke to the RSPB staff they told me where it was and sure enough it was there with around fifteen people taking photos of it. To say I was pleased was an understatement. It was nice to see the gannets again this time with there young, not forgetting the seals that were sunning themselves in the warm sea, a great sight, and a great day.

Nice to see the seals swimming in such clear water also.

It was planned to make a day trip to Bempton this year, but like everything else, it on hold.
