Ant nuptial flight

When I came down for tea the Ant nuptial flight had fully started

Dinner for the predators

While I was eating I watched this one catch the ant who acidently got caught in the Spiders web

On the next window outside we have another flying Ant

I saw this one after tea.

And that wasn’t the only Spider who had a tasty dinner there was more than 4 flying Ants stuck in webs. Up to 2 or 3 in a web at the most in the Spiders webs in the garden

There was so many of the flying Ants crawling on the ground and the walls

It was like wavering food in front of Spiders  face and the birds aswell and I agree with the The Spiders that it was almost impossible not to notice them

This Ant was repeatedly walking back and forth on the chair with a Crab Spider to his right that was on the bird bath

but this one escaped before the crab spider made a web from the Bird bath  to the chair

The Spider ran round the whole bird bath over and over and was cautious about the water But he used a stick which he took a liking to and used it as a bridge to touch the water with hisLeg and mouth and go all the way back to the top again. He realises the water is ok and course Ready to catch some flying ants. When the spider was gone One flying Ant had  fell in the bird bath but  I put her on the wall with the other active flying ants in the sun to dry off and carry on.I think the birds and exspeacialy the gulls enjoyed the flying ants aswell. with nuptial flights  some Do manage to go off and mate successfully without getting caught by predators.
