Bird and seek

Definitely must be our good old Spuggies Zo, they usually sound so blooming happy There is an old Hawthorn hedge at the entrance to a nearby reserve that could be a good match for your hedge it just seems alive with Spuggies.

Haha noisy and hedgehopping sounds like sparrows for sure! The patchier one with the yellowish bill seems to have a gape and some fluff so maybe a juvenile :)

Yes it must be. They do tend sound quiet happy and chirpy they are very Chatty Birds and I find when there in a flock together it seems like they never stop talking. Interestingly though I found out they do that to keep in contact with each other as a flock. Though I think there might be times where they don’t chirp as much. I do have some hawthorns and brambles nearby locally. But the hedge had some flowers that didn’t quiet look like Hawthorn so I’m not Completely sure but if I find out il let you know. Thanks for the suggestion.

Possibly. I’m not completely sure yet though. They were jumping around in the hedge and chirping but this one decided to stop chirping and just settled down in one place to preen the others were still nearby chirping though 

Zo I think they like most deep thick hedges with plenty of protection and a food source nearby

Yes I guess they don’t mind what type of hedge it is as long as it has the things they need

I was lucky enough to meet one of the artists,Ian Wallace, several times. He was a regular on the Yorkshire Coast, a bit eccentric maybe but a brilliant birder and very free with his knowledge
