Doesn't a bit of colour change your mood
And another sign of spring
A lovely Robin
And a well fed Dunnock
Always lovely to see a couple of Goldfinch
This blackbird has been visiting the garden for months
and i kept noticing he was flying up from the floor to the feeder
having a quick peck at the fat ball and then dropping to
the floor to eat what had dropped to the floor. and today for
the first time he has learnt how to hold on to the feeder and
eat at its leasure.
This fellow needs no introduction
A bit more colour
Don't you just love snowdrops.
Another of my regulars
Standing Proud he is on the top of my tree.
I also love a dunnock
The goldfinch has seen the squirrel
Here is trouble
Look at me am i clever or what ?
A different bird just passing through
Brilliant photos ILR, and nice to see the crocuses in bloom already. I don't expect to see them in flower down here for another week or so, though I have seen them in the past in flower mid February, along with snowdrops!
During lockdown#1 last year I spent a lot of time in the garden, we had blackbirds, predominantly males, the females tried, but never managed, flying up to the suet slab and feeding while on the wing!
The females, sensibly so, opted for the easy option, wait on the ground and pick the crumbs that fell to the ground....
The blackbirds, M&F, quickly discovered they could walk in the pond netting and bathe on the fountain, or even grab a drink!
Nature, given the right opportunities, is very adaptive and innovative....
