I got a new camera a few weeks ago (Canon EOS 250D) and today got a new 55-250mm lens. Well when I say new lens, I mean a 2nd hand one from EBay. Now I just need to do a lot of experimenting to see what the best settings are for good pictures. First few tries are attached.
Had this visitor to the garden today. I think it might be a wood pigeon that it has, but once it left all that remained was some feathers. I'm amazed it seemed to eat everything, unless it took the remains away with it. But, seeing the pile of feathers that were left, it explains similar piles I've seen over the years.
I'm unsure what it is so any help would be appreciated.
And I apologise in advance for any gore in these pics.
I think the 2nd last picture is once it had finished, as it looks stuffed and content. It remained sitting for 5-10 minutes, so long in fact the pigeons returned to feed, as seen in the last picture with it on the left and the pigeons on the right (there were another 2 pigeons to the lest of the pictures as well)
(Pardon the Scottish Accent)
Well you certainly got some graphic pictures there Stephen the bird is a Sparrowhawk and a fine specimen it is too and it’s kill looks to be a woodpigeon.
Definetely a female ILR as you said by way of size
But males look different as you can see here
