Out this afternoon no gain. Could be too many leaves on the trees for them to see berries.
A GOOD TIP IF THEY'RE ABOUT.
If tou have a small tree with no leaves stick a few apples on the sharp twigs
If they don't show thrushes will
Hi Barnsley Lad,
I enjoyed my trip to Potteric thanks. No waxwing unfortunately but I'll keep trying. The Blacktoft website mentions an waxwing roosting near the car park so maybe I'll head there tomorrow. Had to pick my daughter up from West Ayton today so I called in at Bempton this aft. Lovely v close sightings of male and female Stonechats in the short time I had there. In the meantime I'll keep checking out the supermarket car park trees!!!
cheers

Why is there never enough time?
FINALLY, I got to see waxwings. We saw a flock of 50+ at Largs marina yesterday . We spent a good few hours around the area and got some 'not too bad' photos . will post some later.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan

Looking forward to seeing your pics, Soosin :)
It's encouraging for us southerners to hear of such good numbers of Waxwings in Scotland. An Aberdeen friend of mine referred to them the other day as 'the pink vermin' :D

Soosin, I'm speechless.
Thank you for sharing these - what a day you had, and really excellent photos to remember it by.
More please.
Gorgeous pictures Soosin. You must be so thrilled. I don't think they come to Somerset but I'll be keeping my eyes open any time I'm in a supermarket car park. We do have lots of berries round here if they have scoffed everything elsewhere.
Soosin,
I am SOOOOOO jealous!!! You lucky thing.
If only I could tell work to get stuffed tomorrow and drive up there to see them for myself..........ah well
