This acorn looked a bit unusual on this Oak tree, anyone know if these are normal?

I think those acorns have been parasitised by a gall wasp. Google for knopper gall.

Wow that was quick that looks exactly what it is, strange really as we have an avenue of such oaks and the whole lot appear to be affected/attacked that way, there are a few normal acorns on the trees too but must seem to have been affected, thanks for the reply as usual:]
Just a thought on the Gall/Knopper Gall/Wasp thingy, for the first time ever I saw a couple of wild roses that 'may' have been affected too, can anyone confirm or is this something different
