Scientists believe that we are a long way from identifying every living thing, many new discoveries are made each year, although most of these are verys small creatures or plants, or are found only in a small area. It is very unusual to discover a new species of such a large (not often used with wren sized) creature.

It must be an incredible feeling to look up and see something that has not been seen before ,( or at least classified before!) I expect the locals are wondering what all the fuss is about having seen it regularly for years!
