Skylarks?

Looking at your skylark pics Buzzard I think it may have been my yellowish flash bird I saw in the woods last week. They do look kind of yellowish. And about thrush / blackbird size.

I have been to Sandwell Valley to look for the skylarks but haven't seen them.

Super pictures of the skylark, MarJus and Buzzard.  Yes they are easy to ID through the crest that they have on top on their head

I have seem lots of them while on my walkabouts over the years.

Seen a lot of them at Castlemill on my trips there.  I am sure that the members of Bedford birder Group will have seen them at Castlemill on their trips out there too.

They are easy to see as they like to fly in one spot, hoover and chitter non stop in one place. 

Cannot wait to spring time now

Great pics Buzzard! I wasn't able to get very close to these although there must have been about 50+ there!

Blackbird - yes that's how I know the skylark - singing and hovering in the spring/summer! We have plenty here luckily! It's getting used to seeing them flocking like it on the ground!!!
